The ICYM Youth Retreat, held in the Diocese of Darjeeling and Sikkim, was an inspiring and impactful event that gathered around 700 young people for a transformative experience of faith, prayer, and learning. The retreat’s central focus was to educate the youth on the importance of defending the sanctity of life. Over the course of the retreat, participants were guided through a series of prolife sessions covering crucial topics such as abortion, euthanasia, pornography, and gender dysphoria, with the aim of equipping them with the knowledge and tools to stand up for life in today’s society.
The retreat also included powerful praise and worship sessions, where the youth came together in song and prayer, lifting their hearts and voices to God. The atmosphere was one of joy and reverence as the young participants deepened their connection with Christ and experienced the strength that comes from unity in faith.
A moving time of Adoration marked the spiritual climax of the retreat, where the youth had the opportunity to spend quiet, prayerful moments before the Blessed Sacrament. This time allowed them to reflect on the themes of life and love, asking for God’s grace to help them become bold advocates for life in their homes, schools, and communities.
The retreat was a powerful reminder of the need to protect and cherish life at all stages, and it sent the youth of Darjeeling and Sikkim forward with renewed zeal to be voices for the voiceless.
